Harris Garden Hardy Fuchsias

Within the Harris Garden is a collection of more than 80 hardy fuchsias from 30 different varieties. Fuchsias were originally found in South America, but most hardy fuchsias found in UK gardens are hybrids, bred by commercial nurseries and enthusiastic amateurs. One such breeder was John Wright, a former graduate and staff member of the University, who developed a number of hardy fuchsias in the 'Whiteknights' series while he worked here, and later developed the Lechlade and Loxhore series.
